AAU needs some interim marks from me to indicate your progress thus far in the course. I don't feel like I've had enough time or seen enough work from anyone to really offer an accurate assessment. As it's required though, I passed everyone with bonus points to those of you who are making use of the blog.
Don't worry about the marks: these are not your midterm marks, they are just a "progress report" sort of check in. When we get to mid-terms I will have seen enough work to give you all an appropriate assessment.
All that said, marks don't matter anyway. Keep using the blog and getting feedback to improve your art - that's what counts!

Reference Help
So I first wanna test and see if I can figure out how to post some videos on the blog, so let's hope this works.
Secondly here are some of the reference clips. I was wondering if you guys would be willing to take a look at them and post some feedback on which ones you are responding too. It's not the exact posing I am going to use, I am going to push a few things to really exaggerate the main speaker, but it's a good indication of what I want to do. Thanks for the help!

Monday, September 27, 2010
Interim marks are due this Wednesday
Remember I mark on 3 elements:
1. Your analytical skills and critique
2. Group/class participation (includes the blog)
3. The quality of your animation.
To boost your mark in class participation, pass me a note when you arrive with your name and the sentence:
(your name)
I read the blog, add me to the cookie list please.
Thanks all - let's see some more work up here.

First pass at Blocking
So here is my first pass at blocking my extrems.
I'm still tweaking the timing and I need to fix her arm in the last shot when it goes trought the table, but that felt like something that should be worked on when I start the breakdows. The camera angels need to be adjusted as well.
Feedback would be loved

Welcome to Character 3 - Dave Latour
A late start but we are finally on our way. Here is a recap of the first official class with our instructor.
We introduced ourselves and set up a way of communicating with each other and the instructor. This blogspot is set up so that the entire class can help each other out with constructive critiques, developing a critical eye as well as keep each other inform. This is s great place to bring up any topic that you may need help with. Those who post often will probably get the most out of the class.
Next weeks homework:
Breakdown Sound
A) Write out Dialogue
B) Start performing (acting out the dialogue)
C) Draw out arc of voice
D) Timing
Participation is important in a class this size so post your clips, drawing or anything that you think will enhance this learning experience.
