3 Strike Revision

Here's the revision on my 3 strike animation. I haven't chased down all the pops yet, but I exaggerated the motion of the hits, so hopefully it's a stronger piece overall!

Good luck everyone, and have a great vacation.

Last project blocking plus

Thanks for a great class!! See you all next semester.

Hey Guys!

I have my demo reel up with the most recent animations. If anyone wants to take a look and give feedback that'd be awesome. I love how the high bar animation is turning out.

Also if people want to add me on linked in or facebook or whatever go for it. =)

Even More Progress

Allright made more progress. Added more archs and bends in the knees and body (even though it's not what a gymnast would want :P ) But I think it does look a lot better that way. Added a bounce to the matt at the end. Added the beginning and a little bit of a bar bounce, going to be working on getting that bounce throughout the whole scene.

What are your guys' thoughts on the camera at the beginning?

edit:: oh yeah and I'm going to finish up his hands after the bar bounce. =)

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

I just showed this in class like a few minutes ago. Just in case I forget what to do with my animation. I have alot to work on such as camera, quick swift punches, head butts, fix that gliding kick and the devil quick recovering fall, etc.

Picher hit by line drive.

It's my first blocking of second project. I'm using a stepped blocking. My first blocking almost done but I havn't finished last key pose yet.

Mid Term Final

Hello everyone.
I made some changes to my midterm project.
I am done with it for now, Any thoughts before I add it to my demo reel?
I would like to see how your mid terms came out.

First_Blocking

So this is my Blocking for my second assigment.

Feedback would be great.

1st Blocking of Final

Here's my first blocking. I actually started the entire thing without steps and almost finished but ended up messing up here and there. I found what was wrong though, which was the gliding (hovering kick of the Devil). I was thinking about ending the animation with a German Suplex. I had a reference video, which I will upload soon as possible.

Progress

Here's some of the progress I've made.
Working in 3d is just fighting Maya until you get what you want. XD

A lot of it I just went in and did frame by frame. The second giant isn't totally splined perfectly yet, especially his arm. Also I changed the camera in the second shot.

All thoughts are appreciated!

The reference I shot. Now there are parts here where I know where the shilouet dosent work, but I had to get into the blocking stage.

Killed Him!

Here is my progress. What do you guys think? I plan on workin on the mouth shapes more.

this is my midterm. please leave comments. thanks.

Midterm pass not final

Lip sync needs work but hoping characters action read better than previous post. Feedback welcomed.

Midterm

Here's my midterm. Hopefully it should be ok. I was trying to turn in a fully rendered one, but parts of the head were missing and I don't know how to display them.

4th pass

so here is my work, i worked a lot on the man, not so much on the girl, so she looks kind of weird.
i'll have to submit this one today, but any feedback is still appreciated for further polishing. :)
thanks!

In progress (still)

Here's what I've been working on.

I have to refine the second characters actions and make them snappier I think, and there's still drift and moving holds to deal with. Any suggestions, even though there's not that much time left until turn in time, are appreciated.

Lip Shapes

Here is the Layout for Lips Shapes as made famous by the great Preston Blair

linda's class blog

here's the blog from my lip syncing class.

http://linda-anim499lipsync3.blogspot.com/

small change for Lip sync

just changed the first shot a bit, dialed down body movement and added prop diploma, nothing huge, tell me your thoughts

blocking pass

This is my first post here. I welcome criticism.

2nd blocking pass

Here's my second blocking pass. Will add facial expressions next. Still need to add some anticipation and a few more breakdown poses. Let me know what you think so far.

2nd Passing

Here's my 2nd Passing. There are of course things I still have to work with such as: the chef's spine movements, the female's slide, the female's expressions (especially during the beginning), hand movements, and of course the movements, which is a little too fast.

third pass

hi guys,
here is my third pass, I added some ease-in and ease-out, and still need to put in some moving holds.
feedbacks are appreciated.
thanks :)

4th animation development

Hi Everybody

So I ahve started doing the lips movment (some of the lipe movment is there to tell me that the should be a shape there, but the mouth might not be as open as animated now) and gone into breakdowns and some tweens, but this is stil for the most part my extreems. I also have some eye darts and blinks in there as well. Going to now really get into the contrast in motions and, tweens, breakdowns and ofsetting, but before I do any coments? I'm also going to work more with their roots as well.

Always love feed back

Evan's Progress

So I've changed it so there is one camera, this way it focuses more on their acting then the joke at the end. (at first The last camera cut was going to reveal that the bird in the cage was dead)
At first I disliked losing the gag but now I'm kinda happy that there is more focus on the two characters. Also I couldn't find a bird rig.

Oh I also added a minute and a half of silence to have more time for his reaction.

All feedback is always appreciated. ^^

First Time Blocking

Missed last weeks class so feel I'm a bit behind but here is my first pass at blocking my scene. Let me know what you think. Have not included all of the facial expressions just attempting to get the body working correctly.

Third Blocking Pass

So this is the version with all the new stuff in it.

Ill be adding breakdowns and inbetweens tomorrow. Tell me what you think.

E
Here's my blocking. I added a bit of lipsynch in it as well. Please tell me what I can do to make it better. Any ideas and suggestions will be appreciated.

First Post

I checked, read, and viewed all the clips on this blog (well about a week ago, but didn't leave any comments). Anyways everyone's works has been looking good so far.

Here's my Academy Award Winning Acting video lol jk. Just my reference and lipsync (using jlipsync). These are not actually the final, since my movements are off and I don't have expressions of bother characters interacting. The camera would be over the shoulder of each character that is not talking.

Tovar_G_blocking

The Blocking for my animation. The sign only disappears because i haven't crafted its chop-able twin, and i'm not sure if there's a point to keying a circular saw's blade spinning in stepped. Let me know what you think.

Blocking_Version_02

So this is my new version Blocked out. I have take some of the suggestion in here and tried to fix the cameras now. Hope the timing looks better. can't wait for feedback.

So I did some blocking for my scene. I'm going to add more keys today. My new idea is there's a bird in the bird cage hopping around, and when it goes back to the last cut it's lying there dead. Does anyone know where I can find a bird rig? I haven't been able to find any free ones.
All feedback and criticism is welcome. =)

Oh I tried extending the time in which he reacts on the sound clip, but it sounded weird cutting to silence..

Sunday, October 3, 2010

hi guys, here is my new blocking. not sure if it is going to the right direction.
i'm still trying to figure out the camera angle, so that i can show the cans, and maybe i'll get rid of the red button if it doesn't work.
comments are appreciated. thanks :)

Interim marks are posted, but marks mean nothing.

AAU needs some interim marks from me to indicate your progress thus far in the course. I don't feel like I've had enough time or seen enough work from anyone to really offer an accurate assessment. As it's required though, I passed everyone with bonus points to those of you who are making use of the blog.

Don't worry about the marks: these are not your midterm marks, they are just a "progress report" sort of check in. When we get to mid-terms I will have seen enough work to give you all an appropriate assessment.

All that said, marks don't matter anyway. Keep using the blog and getting feedback to improve your art - that's what counts!

Reference Help

So I first wanna test and see if I can figure out how to post some videos on the blog, so let's hope this works.

Secondly here are some of the reference clips. I was wondering if you guys would be willing to take a look at them and post some feedback on which ones you are responding too. It's not the exact posing I am going to use, I am going to push a few things to really exaggerate the main speaker, but it's a good indication of what I want to do. Thanks for the help!

Sound Clip Plan

This took sometime with out reference. But it does give an idea where I want to set the scene. Of course once I film some reference this will get clear. Let me know what you think thus far.

Monday, September 27, 2010

Interim marks are due this Wednesday

Remember I mark on 3 elements:

1. Your analytical skills and critique
2. Group/class participation (includes the blog)
3. The quality of your animation.

To boost your mark in class participation, pass me a note when you arrive with your name and the sentence:

(your name)
I read the blog, add me to the cookie list please.

Thanks all - let's see some more work up here.

First pass at Blocking

So here is my first pass at blocking my extrems.

I'm still tweaking the timing and I need to fix her arm in the last shot when it goes trought the table, but that felt like something that should be worked on when I start the breakdows. The camera angels need to be adjusted as well.

Feedback would be loved

Eivind

Welcome to Character 3 - Dave Latour

A late start but we are finally on our way. Here is a recap of the first official class with our instructor.

We introduced ourselves and set up a way of communicating with each other and the instructor. This blogspot is set up so that the entire class can help each other out with constructive critiques, developing a critical eye as well as keep each other inform. This is s great place to bring up any topic that you may need help with. Those who post often will probably get the most out of the class.

Next weeks homework:

Breakdown Sound

A) Write out Dialogue
B) Start performing (acting out the dialogue)
C) Draw out arc of voice
D) Timing

Participation is important in a class this size so post your clips, drawing or anything that you think will enhance this learning experience.
