INSTRUCTOR POST - Welcome New Students

Welcome to the AAU Spring Semester of 2011 everyone!

This is a persistent online site I use to allow my students in both sessions of ANM 421 to solicit and offer feedback on their animation. A few important notes:

1. Conduct yourself here as you would in the class. Play nice with others and be supportive and constructive with your comments. Limit the posting to information relevant to the class.

2. I use participation here as part of your class participation mark. If you're shy this is a great way to be involved in the classroom discussion. You'll notice that I have alumni of my class following the blog still. With a little luck they may also offer some critique on your work. To my prior ANIM421 students, please feel free to offer some guidance anytime.

3. This blog is as helpful as you make it. Be active with comments, post your work regularly and take advantage of this venue. Monitor this site at lease once a week. I will use this as a forum to answer common questions, so you don't want to miss out.

Even If you're new to blogging you'll find this a pretty painless and straightforward process. If you have something from class you'd like to show: just playblast your work, click "new post" on the upper right corner of the screen and use the "add video" button on the right side of the upper menu of the new post interface.

I try to look in here regularly and offer critique and guidance as well. Welcome to the blog and have a great time.

INSTRUCTOR POST - The Ex'pression College Morpheus Wardrobe Project is underway

An idea that I had bouncing around in my head when I first saw Josh Burton's Morpheus rig is finally getting some legs. (You can check out Josh's rig here.)

The basic idea is to create a persistent online archive of costumes for use with the Morpheus rig so that animation community has a robust alternative to the aging Norman rig. If you'd like to offer feedback, suggestions or if you'd just like to follow our progress, check out the blog here.

3 Strike Revision

Here's the revision on my 3 strike animation. I haven't chased down all the pops yet, but I exaggerated the motion of the hits, so hopefully it's a stronger piece overall!
