Liboy_Angel_Acting_Assignment

Yo,

It's nice to see how everyone's work is coming along, it's pretty cool. So here's mine. The first video is taken out from my animatic from my thesis (which I'm working right now).  And the second video is the actual playblast of what I've done in Maya. I'm still in the blocking stage pretty much, but I guess it's moving along at least. Any comments are welcome. :)

Premise: A delivery guy scared to deliver a package after overcoming deadly traps along the way. Afraid of what he might find next.

INSTRUCTOR POST - Hand in for Progress Grade

It's time for me to generate a progress grade for week 5

Hand-in due at the top your 421 drop-off folder Wed Feb 29 at 12 Noon.

I want to see a play-blast of your work-in-progress. I'm expecting something that is about 70% finished (5 weeks of work in a 7 week assignment).

Named "Last_First.mov" (eg Latour_David_BB.mov)
be sure to follow all the typical hand-in parameters for file type and size.

Also - remember to title all your blog posts with your name first and then whatever title you like
eg: "Dave L.- My Blog Post"

2 Character Dialogue

Hi every, this is my 2 Character Dialogue animation. I am working on the bigger guy, but I have no idea how to improve his action. Any suggestion :D

Blocking (With Reference)

Hello Fellow ANimators!!

Here is where I am with my blocking. I am only working on one character right now, because I work layered, and I go for my timing first, so excuse the bare bones. I feel like the feet and body are generally moving the way I want them to, so now I am going to start adding in more elements.

I am also attaching my reference, which i got from The princess Bride. I liked the general pace of the swordplay in it, so i used that as a starting point. Once I get the timing down, I will start to have more fun with it, and push everything, including the choreography.

Srisupa(Noii)_Blocking

Hi everyone! Here is my sort of blocking. I think my timing a little bit slow. The expression isn't right. Please give me suggestions or critiques on how to make it better.

Scott Cho: Blocking Pass 3

Hey guys!

I am stuck with coming up with better pose for boy's "flies, stink bugs" part. If you guys have better suggestions regarding to that, feel free to share your ideas!

I also added disgusted face to girl. Can I ask you guys if that expression is working or not?

Characters' movements are still stiff and I will try fix them in a following week.

Kelsey_Heckenkamp morphy clothes

Hey everyone.

I noticed some of you have Morpheus in costumes and was curious where you got your files from. I did a google search and got articles discussing the Morphy mods but not the file itself. Anyone know of a link or can name where they got theirs it would be much appreciated.

Help moving a section of animation

I am hoping somebody here can offer up a quick and clean way to go about this. Here's the situation: I had my character doing a parkour scene, but it was all in a straight line. I have changed it so that half way though the scene, he takes a left turn and the animation continues just like before, except now he is around the corner. My problem is that I cannot relocate the second half of the animation easily.
Things I have tried:

--  grabbing the hips, hands and feet and moving them all. This works for translate but I can't rotate them together, they just rotate on their spot, destroying the pose.
--  parenting the hips, hands and feet under a null group, then moving and rotating the group. This gives the desired translation and rotation but it messes up the animation while the group is being moved.
-- making angry wookie noises

There might not be a way to accomplish this, in which case I can do it manually. I just thought I would check to see if somebody knew of a fancy trick. Thanks for reading. As a reward, in case you didn't know,  Alt + V is the hotkey to play/pause your animation instead of clicking the play button.

Barnett_Giant 2nd Try

I was really unhappy with the last one so I started over. I think this is a little better.
I will have the little guy running from hand to hand kind of like a hamster. I'm a little behind because I started over but I'll have the little guy animated here soon.

Mike Grabski - Facial and some Lip Sync

Hey everyone!  So here is another pass scene.  Things I want to work on, cleaning up some arcs, spacing issues and maybe change one of the facial expressions... I also tried something funky with the character on the right's cheeks and I think I am going to take it out though.  I'd love to hear any suggestions or critiques on how to make it better.
Hey everyone, I don't know if anyone wanted this but here it is in case.  Like David said its kind of funny to look at but I suppose it's a way to get your face shapes in the ballpark before really defining them.

Anat Yogev- 1st pass

Hey everyone!
This is my first pass of the key poses.
I hope you like the tango...
I would love to get some feedback :)

Barnett_Giant 1st Pass

Any kind of feedback is welcome. Things are still super rough. I don't even know if I like the choices I made in action.

Basic blocking pass for the acting scene

Mike Oros: Blocking

Blocking with main Keys, and some Inbetweens.

Mary Castaneda - Blocking Pass #1

Hey everyone!! This is my first blocking pass, and I think I'm the first one posting a dance sequence. Any critique/observations/notes will help! Have a good week. :)

Mary :)

PS: Posted during class. Hehe.

Scott Cho: Blocking Pass 2

Hey Guys. I have added some additional key poses since last week, thanks to some reference I shoot. I still need more time to work on characters' wrist and fingers.

Is the last key pose of a girl with a pizza box look awkward?

I want to focus on characters' acting for a while before I can start work on mouth shapes and facial expression.

Toshi_Blocking 1st Pass

Hi everyone, This is my 1st blocking pass of :Parkour: assignment. I found some Poarkour references and combined those video that I am observing now. However, I'm not sure I can move camera like this video or not.

Thank you.

Scott Cho: Blocking Pass 1

Hey guys. Here's my first blocking for "acting" assignment and I am still trying to come up with better acting poses. So far, I only have done a few poses and did not add mouth shapes on time.

In a following week, I will try to add mouth shapes and extra blocking poses.

Thank you!
